About Me
About Lisa Hanson, LMFT
I’m not a “just talk about your feelings” kind of therapist.
My clients describe me as passionate, honest, and direct because I care deeply about getting results. Therapy with me is active and focused. We identify what’s keeping you or your family stuck and start doing something about it.
My Specialities
Family Therapy
(children ages 10+)
For over 13 years, I’ve helped children, teens, adults, and families find relief from patterns that no longer serve them. Whether it’s emotional overwhelm, trauma, or family conflict, my goal is to help you understand what’s really going on and build the skills to create lasting change.
My Approach
You’ll get a combination of empathy and clear guidance. I don’t dance around issues. I’ll tell you what you need to hear and show you what to do next. Together, we’ll identify what’s driving your behavior or your child’s struggles, heal what’s underneath, and create practical ways to move forward.
I use evidence-based approaches that go beyond talking. EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic tools help integrate what’s been overwhelming so you feel calm, grounded, and confident again.
Why I Do This Work
Before becoming a therapist, I was a mom in the trenches, raising three boys in three years, including one with special needs. I understand what it’s like to feel exhausted, worried, and responsible for fixing everything. That experience shaped my belief that families can recover, kids can smile again, and adults can feel whole even after hard things.
Let’s Get to Work
If you’re ready for a therapy process that’s compassionate, straightforward, and results-focused, I’d be honored to work with you. Together, we’ll build a plan that makes sense, brings relief, and gets you back to living with purpose.
